Sweden to ban sales of fossil-fuel powered cars by 2030

The newly-appointed Swedish prime minister, Stefan Löfven, has announced that the sale of cars with gasoline or diesel engines will be banned in his country after 2030.  The overall goal is for Sweden to be fossil fuel-free by 2050.

With this measure, Sweden aims to reduce harmful emissions and speed up compliance with the goals in the Paris Climate Deal.
