Greta Thunberg Urges Global Assistance to India’s Covid-19 Crisis
Climate change activist Greta Thunberg said the ongoing coronavirus crisis in India is “heartbreaking”. Thungerg also appealed to the global community to come forward and help India out of the crisis.
With India reporting a devastating surge in infections during the second wave, several international leaders and personalities have come forward to urge countries to help with vaccine and drug supplies. For instance, netizens in Pakistan have also reached out to their Indian counterparts offering prayers and good wishes for coming out of the crazy blow of the Covid-19 second wave.
For nearly a week now, hospitals in several states, including the national capital, have been facing an acute shortage of medical oxygen to treat Covid-19 patients.
As India’s Covid-19 caseload exploded, a severe shortage of hospital beds and ventilators has also crippled the efforts to save lives.
Along with her tweet, Thunberg shared a news report about India’s prevailing health crisis as the country reports over 3 lakh cases every day.
